GoodData is looking for a hacker to join our team and help us make it more robust.
Your job will be to:
participate in the ongoing evolution of MAQL and its algebraic representation,
design and implement improvements to the MAQL compiler and the plumbing around it (workers, interfaces, etc.),
author technical designs and documentation.
You should have:
solid background in computer science (data structures, algorithms, …) and discrete mathematics (graphs, relational algebra, order and lattices, …),
experience with at least one functional programming language (Erlang, Haskell, LISP, …) and one imperative (Perl, Python, C/C++, …),
knowledge of SQL (experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL is welcome),
experience with version control (Git preferred),
desire to do things The Right Way.
It is nice if you:
are able to work effectively in a Linux/Unix environment (bash, awk, sed, make are your friends),
contributed to or maintained an open source project (GoodData often contributes to PostgreSQL btw.),
have good written English,
don't mind visiting Brno once in a while,
like polar bears and pub&club culture.
